Marital Property Maryland law provides, if the parties cannot otherwise agree, that a court may grant to one of the spouses a monetary award where a division of property acquired by the spouses during their marriage, on the basis of who holds title, would be inequitable. The Court will consider a number of factors in determining whether to make a monetary award, and the amount thereof: Including the following: • Contributions, monetary and non-monetary,
of each spouse to the well-being of the family In addition to a monetary award, the Court may transfer
ownership of an interest in a pension, retirement, profit sharing, or
deferred compensation plan, from one spouse to the other spouse. |
